Leading Provider of Dry Ice Blasting Services

PARK Dry Ice Blast Services is a specialized cleaning solutions provider offering professional, non-abrasive dry ice blasting for industrial, commercial, and construction environments.
Backed by a solid foundation in engineering and construction, our team brings unmatched technical expertise and a deep understanding of complex systems, structural components, and operational safety.
We utilize advanced dry ice blasting technology to deliver chemical-free, damage-free cleaning for everything from heavy machinery and sensitive electrical equipment to structural surfaces and post-construction cleanup.

Eco-Friendly Cleaning

Due to stricter regulations and growing awareness of environmental standards, eco-friendly cleaning methods are increasingly important in various industries. Traditional cleaning often generates harmful secondary waste and relies on harsh chemicals that can negatively affect both the environment and workers.

Dry ice blasting offers an effective, environmentally conscious cleaning solution.

Dry ice is produced from reclaimed CO2, a byproduct of industrial processes like oil refining and fermentation. This captures CO2 that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.

Because dry ice blasting does not generate additional CO2, it eliminates any harmful secondary waste produced.  As dry ice hits a surface, it sublimates, turning from solid to gas and leaving no secondary waste behind requiring disposal.

In contrast, methods like soda blasting can leave residues that require cleanup and can contaminate the environment. For example, soda can seep into soil, harming vegetation and necessitating special disposal of secondary waste.

Dry Ice blasting is Non Toxic and Reduces Chemical Use. The food-grade dry ice used in this process is approved by the EPA, FDA, and USDA and is non-toxic. Dry ice blasting reduces the need for harmful chemical solvents, allowing workers to maintain safer working standards and minimising exposure risks. This approach also prevents any chemical remnants from contaminating the environment.

Process of Material removal

The cleaning action of dry ice blasting is based on three physical effects:

  1. As with most other blasting methods, the accelerated particles emit kinetic energy on impact, allows the breakdown of stubborn agents including silicone, rubber, paints and residues. The Mohs hardness (scale of mineral hardness) of the pellets produced during dry ice blasting is approximately the same as that of plaster, ensuring a potent clean.
  2. Thermal energy from the abrupt cooling to -79°C causes a thermal shock effect that produces fine cracks in the top layer of the material to be removed. This causes it to go brittle and crumble away from the surface.
  3. Some of the frozen C02 penetrates these cracks caused by the thermal shock, where it then sublimates, (Increases in volume many hundreds of times) on a microscopic scale. This expansion literally blasts the dirt layers off.

Through these three physical effects, dry ice blasting is able to remove unwanted paints, oil, grease, tar, bitumen, ink, resin, adhesives, wax, silicon, rubber and other residues and a wide variety of dirt encrustations from a diverse range of surfaces.

Benefits Of Dry Ice Blasting

The cleaning action of dry ice blasting is based on three physical effects:

  1. As with many other blasting methods, the accelerated particles emit kinetic energy on impact allowing for the breakdown of stubborn agents including silicone, rubber, dyes and paints. The Mohs hardness (scale of mineral hardness) of the pellets produced during dry ice blasting is approximately the same as that of plaster, ensuring a potent clean.
  2. Thermal energy from the abrupt cooling to -79°C causes a thermal shock effect and produces fine cracks in the top layer of material to be removed causing it to go brittle and crumble away from the surface.
  3. Some of the frozen carbon dioxide penetrates the cracks in the dirt crusts caused by the thermal shock where it sublimates, increasing 400-fold in volume and, on a microscopic scale it literally blasts these dirt layers off. Through these three physical effects, dry ice blasting is able to remove unwanted paints, oil, grease, tar, bitumen, ink, resin, adhesives, wax, silicon and rubber residues, chewing gum and a wide variety of dirt encrustations from diverse substrates.

The ability to clean effectively without damaging surfaces and not leaving vast amounts of waste, makes dry ice blasting is another reason why this can be an effective solution for tackling dirt found within cleanrooms. The fact that dry ice blasting uses no chemicals and leaves no wastewater, also makes it an environmentally friendly solution for areas where cleaning with water is prohibited, including electrical wiring.
